Building the systems behind content that scales.

PRODUCTION

Fifteen years leading production operations across public broadcast, international media and the UK podcast industry.

OPERATIONS

I build teams, workflows and slates — at pace, at standard, and without losing what makes the work good.

ABOUT

I'm Sandra Ferrari, a production operations leader with over fifteen years across CBC Radio, the UN, and the UK podcast industry.

I've built production functions from the ground up, managed complex international slates, and held the line on quality under commercial pressure.

I run Pistil Media, my own production consultancy. This site is also a portfolio for the right in-house role, the kind of operation where the scale, ambition and standards make it worth being on the inside.

HOW I WORK

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.

    Systems before problems

I build the infrastructure that stops fires from starting - workflows, scheduling, communication protocols, freelance bench management. These aren't admin. They're the foundation that lets creative work happen at pace.

Teams that want to show up

Burned-out people don't make great content and broken cultures cost more than bad budgets. I invest as much in the energy and clarity of a team as I do in the operational layer.

    Calm under pressure

Scope creep, editorial pivots, team changes mid-production - these are normal. I make decisions clearly, communicate quickly and keep the production moving without dropping the standard.

    Editorial instinct, operational execution

I understand the creative well enough to protect it - and the ops well enough to deliver it. I work across both sides of the table and I'm trusted by both.

WHAT SETS ME APART

The ops layer is where great content lives or dies.

Most productions don't fail because of bad ideas. They fail because the system behind the idea couldn't hold the weight.

I've spent fifteen years building systems that hold - across formats, commissioners, time zones and team sizes. From a 2-person UN production unit, to coordinating 300+ international broadcasters, to an 18-person London studio delivering premium branded and narrative content for BBC, Audible, Wondery and Al Jazeera.
